Good day, Joe and STOers! Today, I wanted to provide something that I hope will be helpful to most of you.
If you’re not buying out any of the Events of Event Campaign IV (which still has a week in Event 4 and a 5th Event still to come), you may be approaching the point where you’re about to claim your Grand Prize. You have quite a few options:
- Premium T6 Starship Choice Pack (choice of 1 Lock Box or Promotional ship released prior to 12/31/2021); OR
- 2x Z-Store T6 Ship Coupons (can’t be used on Mudd ships, Bundle-only ships, or Legendary ships, sorry!); OR
- 1,500 Lobi
That feels like 3 choices, but it’s really…uh…tries counting…yeah, it’s a lot.
So let me provide you with a few Event Campaign prize rundown videos done by various STO content creators.
These are in no particular order, and with no preference for one over any other.
CasualSAB
CasualSAB comes in with his take on what to get with the Event Campaign main reward. He breaks down the options, the value propositions of each choice (in a general sense, no specific calculations given on specific Lock Box or Pomo ships, for example), and provides a list of Premium T6 Starships (the Lock Box/Promo ships).
MC Stu
MC Stu (not to be confused with Stu1701) has his own takes on what to grab. I think this video is more about the Z-Store, Lock Box, and Promo ships, best I recall (I’m not re-screening these as I post them. I’m trying to be fairly quick about this post!). He does have lists of top picks of the Z-Store for 2021 and 2022 as of the time of those videos’ recordings.
Stu1701
About 5 months ago, another Stu, this time Stu1701 (this one’s the one with the top hat), has his Top 10 picks for the Event Campaign. (I believe he did this so early because those who bought out the first 2 Events at the very start would have had their Event Campaign reward quite early in the year.)
His video talks more about the Lock Box/Promo ship options.
If you want to see his 2021 Event Campaign recommendations, I’ll leave the link in this relatively long line of text you’ll probably just ignore at a certain point so you can watch the older video. Do keep in mind, we’ve had a full year of new releases as well as new Mudd Choice Packs and the 12th Anniversary Terran Bundle, so some ships mentioned in the 2021 video may now be available account-wide if you’re willing to buy the associated Choice Pack/Bundle(s).
TriZander
And finally, from March, we have TriZander’s take on the Lock Box/Promo ships he’d choose. TriZander plays on both Console (PS4) and PC, so while I haven’t watched the video in a while, I’d imagine his look at the choices would include consideration for Console players.
If you want to look up any older videos for suggestions, look for “Event Campaign 3”, and Auggie has one from last year (misnamed as IV instead of III) that, best I can tell, hasn’t been updated for this year. Again, though, with an extra year and change of new releases, some ships may be available elsewhere as account-wide purchases. If you like a ship enough that you’d want an account-wide version, check around and make sure it’s not already in a Mudd Choice Pack or other Bundle.
